Home sweet... apartment that he mostly just happened to live in, still. Zack was used to life on the island, but a week of bouncing around with Miguel fighting across the multiverse had been good for him in ways the island just couldn't provide for him on a regular basis. Sure, those fights still hadn't happened at home either, but Zack had spent a little whlie actually feeling useful for a change of pace, and some of the anxiousness from running into Angeal last weekend had been burned out of his system just for that fact alone.

He still wasn't going to be taking up the buster sword again any time soon. He'd have to ask Amaya about perhaps forging him a new weapon. Maybe one with a few more materia slots, something closer to standard-issue SOLDIER sword than a giant steel slab of dreams and honor.

He smiled a little at Girl as she trotted around the apartment beside him, looking out for him, looking out for breakfast, possibly a little of both, and he pulled the large bag of dog food down from the closet where he kept it.

And promptly turned into a puppy, dropping the bag, sending kibbles skittering everywhere, and landing in the pile of food with a sharp puppy yelp.

Girl took a moment to take stock of this situation, whuffed slightly in resignation, and then went to help Zack out of the kibble pile. She took care of him while he was human shaped, she'd take care of him now, too. At least there was food.

[OOC: Establishy! They'll get rescue before too long, no need to worry about the puppies!]

It was just that sort of morning. The snuggly sort. The clingy sort, even, where there were things to get up and out of bed for, but Zack had zero to no inclination to really get up to do any of them in any sort of hurry. The dust was starting to settle, perhaps, after the madness of last week on into the weekend, but until things were back to the norm, damn it, he was going to make use of lazy mornings to the full extent of his ability.

"We don't really have to get up today, right?"

Snuggling. It's what's for breakfast.

[For that girl wot lives thar!]

Some things never changed, no matter what sorts of things had happened a week ago to the day. Things like Zack being a ridiculously early riser, and him needing to get out and about to do his morning exercises. The weight of the sword in his hand was different than it used to be, but, hey, practise was practise, and going through the motions would help him get his mind off of stuff like how antsy Ino had looked this morning before they both set off to do their thing.

The Buster Sword cut a ridiculously large arc through the air around him. It was definitely a formidable weapon, but it was also heavy and awkward compared to the SOLDIER longsword that he usually used. Actually being any good with it would be a bit of a challenge.

[For they who know who they are!]

Zack... Hadn't actually gone to work, today. Considering the weekend he'd had, he suspected that Lulu would understand. If he could ever manage to find words suitable for explaining something like... like that.

After parting ways with Ino in the lobby, he'd lingered around outside, hugging a hamster ball and chasing sunbeams whenever the shadows crept up on him until the sun had started to set.

Now he was sitting by the window, frowning as the last of the daylight faded completely, giving way to the night. He hadn't eaten yet today. He didn't exactly have the appetite for it. In fact, he was fairly certain that if he were to decide to make a major lifestyle choice right about now, going vegan would be easy.

... But mostly, he was worried about pretty much everybody he'd been around this weekend. He knew he had a lot of apologizing to do. He just wasn't certain that he had the nerve just yet to get out and do it.

[Open post, cracked door. Careful not to let the gerbil out, though. He's a fearsome little guy.]

Thursday! Zack's day off, and there was a kind of rhythm in the air that he hadn't really noticed around this place before. The sort of rhythm that had him singing earlier, and yes, he was going to just ignore that bit and get on with his day. Which, really, was all the better for pulling out his sword and meeting Deadpool in the preserve for some training, right?

Because Shiva knows, the kid was going to need it someday.

"Ready!"

About as ready as wiggly puppies like Zack ever got, anyhow.

In Which There Is Singing! )

[Establishy, natch. Preplayed with [livejournal.com profile] mouthy_merc who is hotter than Shang and Donny Osmond combined, trufax. And with so many apologies to Disney.]
puppy_fair: (Shock!)
After a day of being harangued by dishes-who-were-no-longer-dishes, Zack was all too happy to make his way back to his cabin, find his way to his alcove, and collapse on his--

Actually, no, he wasn't going to be collapsing on his bed tonight. Because his Uniform was sitting on it, grinning pleasantly with his arms crossed over his chest.

"My bed tonight, Zack," said uniform announced. "I'm expecting company."

A pause.

"Unless you wanted to join us?"

Zack had the sinking feeling that he was going to be sleeping outside, tonight.

[For a pair of very sharp ladies, indeed! Of course, because it is but a wee alcove, anyone who lives here and feels the need to throw things at Zack's curtain can ping in, as well.]

Ah, morning! That time of day where Zack typically went through the closest thing to a routine that he actually had. There was the streeetch, and there was the yawn, and there was the reaching over the edge of his bed and blindly groping about for his uniform. It was all very important routine, naturally. Especially that last part, because it meant that he wasn't going to spend the day in his underpants. Always a bonus!

Except that today, his uniform wasn't there when he reached over the edge of the bed to pat around for it. And cracking open one eye to look for it revealed that it was, in fact, on the other side of the room, being worn by another guy, who was looking at him expectantly.

"Um. Hi? You're kinda wearing my clothes?"

The other guy smirked faintly from under the SOLDIER helmet and shook his head.

"Guess again, Zack."

There was a long, long, long pause. And then Zack shrugged. Nope. No clue. Had the other guy actually hidden his uniform? Was he a member of SOLDIER who had also been assigned to the island? Was there any way at all that he'd be so kind as to loan him a pair of pants?

Nope. No. Sorry.

"Well, then who are you?"

The other guy's response of, "You ought to recognize the Uniform that's been all over every inch of your nearly-naked body," earned only wide-eyes and epic squeaking sounds from Zack as he pulled up his bedsheets and turned many new and interesting shades of red.

[Generally establishy, but open to other cabinmates, sure!]
