Room 504, Thursday Morning
It was just that sort of morning. The snuggly sort. The clingy sort, even, where there were things to get up and out of bed for, but Zack had zero to no inclination to really get up to do any of them in any sort of hurry. The dust was starting to settle, perhaps, after the madness of last week on into the weekend, but until things were back to the norm, damn it, he was going to make use of lazy mornings to the full extent of his ability.
"We don't really have to get up today, right?"
Snuggling. It's what's for breakfast.
[For that girl wot lives thar!]

That totally counted as a 'no, they didn't really need to get up'.
In Ino-ese, do keep up.

Not having to get up just yet was great for that sort of thing, wasn't it?
He wrapped her up a little more tightly in his arms, and he sighed.
"There are supposed to be thunderstorms later today, I've heard," he said, a sort of soft rambling, just to fill dead air that had been dead for days, now. "Probably not the greatest day for training outside, anyhow. But there's always the Salle, or the gym, or I could look into booking a portal to--" He checked himself. Midgar seemed like a place that was still just a bit too touchy, especially right now. "--Rocket Town. We still haven't been there, yet."
And then he bit his lip and listened for a minute. Half listening, half scrambling for more things to say, more words to fill the quiet with.

Another thing to figure out.
She traced her fingers over his arm.
//We could do Rocket Town,// Ino said, finally, and braced herself for—the fact she was hurting him more, by answering that way.

"You'll like it there," he murmured. "I think. It's a small town, too, and the air is fresh out there. It's surrounded by countryside, and..."
He was running out of words. He'd attempted to ramble the whole week away, and now he couldn't manage much more than another tired sigh, that came out in a little 'whuff' against her shoulder.
This wasn't working.

That meant she had to be the one to fix it. (Why couldn’t there be anything that didn’t need fixing?)
She tangled her arms around him, fingers toying with his hair and frowned while he couldn’t see it, before pressing a kiss to his temple. Yes, it did sound nice when put like that. And she’d be able to see the rocket.
Which was exciting. Space travel was all well and good but it was boring to ask her classmates who treated space travel as something normal—there was no excitement to be found in squeaking and flailing and gleeing over the possibility.
//When did you want to go?//
Ino’s frown deepened. Right then. Next time he said something, she’d answer him verbally.
It would be worth it for the smile and even if she just talked to him that would surely help things.
Right?

He tilted his head a bit, thoughtfully. Scratched at the back of his head a bit. Licked at his own nose. Let out a thoughtful 'whuff' and thumped his tail against the bed.
... Wait. That 'whuff' had been kind of more like a 'woof,' hadn't it?
Well, drat.

One moment she'd been all curled up against her boyfriend, who was a great deal larger than her, and the next, she had her arms around a...
Puppy?
That was going to take another moment to blink.
no subject
... Which he was going to lick, now, for good measure. Because there was no way that anyone could ever say no to adorable puppy kisses, right? The power of love was totally stronger than dog breath.

This happened?
"Oh Zack," she murmured, out loud for the first time in most of a week. "You're an idiot."
But she was giggling as she pushed herself into a seated position.

She talked! She talked to him! And he was now the happiest puppy ever and if she said that he was an idiot, then, darn it, he so, so totally was! Bark! Joy! Hooray!

Ino didn't know if this made things easier, or if it made them harder, but it was very difficult to keep from smiling at the moment.
Good enough.
