Okay. So, Mideel had been a bust. But once Zack had been given clearance to leave the clinic that they'd found there, he and Ino had hunted down transit to get them the hell out of there. It didn't even matter where, at this point. Civilization. Any continent would do, so long as it wasn't Wutai, and wasn't drowned in mako. Fortunately, for some extra Gil, it wasn't difficult to find a ship captain who wasn't adverse to letting two stowaways hang out in the cargo hold, just so long as Zack was certain not to make eye contact with any of his crew.
And that was how they wound up on the coastline in the Gongaga region, casually beating up the occasional Beachplug before turning to head to the broad expanse of trees not far to the north, inside which was the small town that Zack had grown up in.
Just a quick stop, he'd promised. Mostly because he was curious to see how far Gongaga had come along, over the years.
This was shaping up to be one hell of a vacation.
